My 101

Brewing

  1. Brew at least 10 brews (0/10)
  2. Get an all-grain setup together
  3. Brew at least 1 all-grain beer
  4. Brew at least 1 mead
  5. Brew at least 1 cider

Programming/Internet/Career

  1. Learn to program Objective-C/Cocoa for Mac OSX
  2. Write a useful application for the Mac OSX
  3. Publicize and sell/give away said program to some acclaim
  4. Update eversmann.com to truly be an Eversmann family site
  5. Blog an average of once a week during a 3 month period
  6. Update my resume
  7. Get a new job
  8. Setup spare computer(s) in office for testing/experimentation
  9. Put together a personal site that showcases the use of AJAX
  10. Organize all of the files on the Mac and recoup wasted space

House, Yard and Cars

  1. Create "playground" area in the back yard for Deacon
  2. Fix grass and sprinkler coverage in the back yard
  3. Do something useful with the back yard on the north side of the house
  4. Install a walk/path from the driveway to the back yard on the south side of the house
  5. Clean up and plant the south planting area in the back yard
  6. Mow the lawn once a week for one month
  7. Paint spare bedroom/office
  8. Fix up paint in Deacon's room and the Master Bedroom
  9. Fix up paint in Master and Guest Bathrooms
  10. Wash and clean both cars

Garage

  1. Sell, give away, store properly everything in the garage
  2. Build shelving for garage
  3. Build a workbench and organize my tools
  4. Clean/organize the garage to the point of being able to park both cars in it
  5. Add outlets and better lighting to the garage

Cleaning/Organization

  1. File all personal/family files in a filing cabinet
  2. Organize/clean office
  3. Assemble the Amanda Binder
  4. Come up with a solid, reliable backup scheme for the home computer
  5. Implement that backup scheme
  6. Stick to Amanda's cleaning schedule with her for at least one month
  7. Organize the kitchen with Amanda and help keep it that way for at least one month
  8. Get house looking nice enough to have a party
  9. Organize my "Tech Junk" piles into garbage/sellable/keepable
  10. Get rid of the first two categories of "Tech Junk" and find a place for the third

Personal Health / Exercise

  1. Reach my goal weight of 185
  2. See a doctor for my dry skin
  3. Get a full physical
  4. Complete my IBM Healthy Living program each year I'm working for IBM
  5. Walk or run daily for at least a month
  6. Get a bike
  7. Ride the bike at least once a week for a month
  8. Create a workout schedule
  9. Stick to my workout schedule for at least a month
  10. Learn to rock climb at CFF

Recreation

  1. Go skiing/snowboarding at least 5 times (0/5)
  2. See at least 3 plays (0/3)
  3. Go to the opera
  4. Take Deacon to Disneyland
  5. Go to Monterey Bay Aquarium
  6. Visit Jim and Kath in San Diego
  7. Go to Legoland
  8. Go to Great America
  9. Eat lunch in the park at least once a week for a month
  10. Go to a Sacramento River Cats game

Dining

  1. Go on a picnic
  2. Try 5 new ethnic restaurants (3/5)
  3. Try 5 new non-chain restaurants,other than the ethnic ones (1/5)
  4. Experiment with burgers on the grill recipes and pick a signature burger
  5. Experiment with pizza recipes and pick a signature pizza

Personal Growth

  1. Get a journal and write in it at least once a week for 2 months
  2. Make a list of 10 books I should read (computer books don't count)
  3. Read the books on that list (0/10)
  4. Make a list of 20 movies I should see
  5. See the movies on that list (0/20)
  6. Eat vegetarian for a week with Amanda
  7. Find a family church
  8. Volunteer for an organization I believe in
  9. Become more politically active
  10. Join a social organization and participate in at least 2 activities (0/2)

Relationship

  1. Average at least one date night a month (2/33)
  2. Do something romantic (and not cliche)
  3. Finish the "About Us" book with Amanda
  4. Play games with Amanda (get your mind out of the gutter) at least once a week for 2 months
  5. Read and discuss at least 3 books with Amanda (0/3)

Money

  1. Update our budget every 6 months
  2. Stick to each updated budget for at least 2 months
  3. Pay off one large item of debt
  4. Revisit investment plans (including saving for Deacon's education)
  5. Don't eat out for one month straight

Kids

  1. Take Deacon to the park at least once a week for 3 months
  2. Teach Deacon the ASL alphabet with Amanda
  3. Take Milo for a walk at least 5 times a week for 3 months
  4. Have a new kid (born or adopted)
  5. Take Deacon to story time at the library with Amanda

Unpluging / Going Green

  1. Get a battery charger and slowly switch Deacon's toys' battery consumption to rechargeables
  2. Replace every burnt out lightbulb with a CFL (not including the lights over the bathroom mirrors)
  3. Limit superfluous trips to Davis to an average of twice a month for 6 months
  4. Unplug (no computers, tv or electronic gadgets) after 9PM every night for 2 weeks
  5. Spend an entire Saturday/Sunday with no internet

Other Stuff

  1. Get a Sac library card
  2. Get a tattoo
  3. Try a new hair style (other than the 'buzz' or the 'overgrown buzz')
  4. Plan and carve a decent Jack-o-Lantern for Halloween
  5. Do one of the Make! Magazine projects

Consequences

  1. Donate $5 for every unfinished or changed goal at the end of the 1001 days.
